The Town Planning Board approves plans for the development of commercial properties, and approves the subdivision of land. The Board reviews and provides input to the Town Board on all Urban Renewal Map requests, all changes to the Zoning Code and the Town Comprehensive Plan. The Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the Town Board. Each member serves a seven-year term.

The Planning Board Office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. All Planning Board files are available for public review at the Planning Board Office. Archived files can be viewed by appointment. Please note that all correspondence submitted to Planning Board files must be mailed or submitted in person to this address.
The Planning Board meets at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays in the Town Hall Courtroom, 159 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, NY 11937. All meetings are open to the public. The following meetings are scheduled for 2010. Click on the dates to see the agenda for that meeting.

Each Planning Board member is assigned to a particular area of East Hampton (click here for map) and can help shepherd applications from that district through the Planning Board process. Applicants should seek guidance and feedback from the committee person for their application or the Planning Department. Applicants are encouraged to contact the committee person after receipt of the Planning Department?s memorandum with any comments or questions regarding the memorandum or to express consent to the recommendations contained therein in order to help expedite the discussion at the work session. This establishes a cohesive planning effort that helps serve the applicant and community through a coordinated effort to bring applications through the process in a consistent manner.
