|Reminder from the Tax Receiver:
Second-half tax payments are due by 5/31/2014.
Since this date is a Saturday in 2014,
we will accept payments through June 2, 2014.
After June 2, 2014: by law our office is not permitted to accept payments beyond this date and taxes become payable to Suffolk County Treasurer with interest and penalties.
The Tax Receiver's Office is responsible for collecting and accounting for tax receipts for various town funds, fire districts, school districts, lighting districts, water districts, and special use districts. The office also sends out reminder notices to taxpayers and is part of the town finance function.
|Under New York State Real Property Tax, property owners are still responsible for taxes on their property, regardless of whether they
receive a bill.
